Your Role as a Mechanical Engineer:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of mechanical engineers. You will lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and products, ensuring they meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards. Your expertise in SolidWorks and drafting, along with your knowledge of metal fabrication processes, will be crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Identify deficiencies in mechanical processes and develop improvements.
- Design and develop prototypes.
- Analyze and test prototypes and each revision of a device.
- Assist in the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings.
- Prepare documentation of analysis and provide suggestions for correcting errors.
- Collaborate with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of design engineering methods.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A commitment to promoting a culture of safety and adherence to industry regulations.
- Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus, and physics.
- Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software.
- Creative thinking and innovation.
- Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of the target user and market.
- Ability to maintain focus under pressure.
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs – Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM (3+ years).
- Familiarity with ANSI or ISO standards.
- Leadership or management experience (minimum 1 year).
- Engineering review/redline processes.
- Design for manufacturability.
- BOM and ERP creation and manipulation.
- Developing assembly and work instructions.
- Familiarity with sheet metal and forming.
- Electrical system design (Commercial/Residential 120/208V).
Compensation:
Salary: $75,000 – $82,000 per year commensurate with experience.
